my story
I did not always do this.
For years I ran a fast paced business. It was busy, demanding and full on. When we moved to Australia, I finally had some breathing space. And I realised I did not want to keep going at that speed.
I wanted to capture real life and real stories. Not just how they looked, but how they felt. Not perfect versions of people. Just what is actually happening.
I am a mum. I know how easy it is to say, “I’ll document this properly later.” And then later never comes. The birthday passes. The newborn blur fades. The season shifts before you realise it.
People say time flies. It really does.
So why documentary style?
My first birth shoot changed something for me.
Being in that space, camera in hand, I saw how much a birth story mirrors the rest of our lives. It is messy. It is strong. It is vulnerable. It is not predictable. It is not always safe. It is not always joyful. But no matter the outcome, you do not walk out the same.
When you look back, you are not just seeing a newborn announcement. You are remembering what brought that baby into the world. It is one of the most honest, human things we go through.
In life, we are not just the milestones at the beginning and the end. We are everything in between. And that story is worth capturing.
You might notice I also work in marketing and branding. I do. I like building things and seeing them grow. It keeps a different part of my brain sharp.
Storytelling shows up in both places. Just in different ways.
Unrelated, But Here We Are
I'm a night owl

Working at midnight feels normal to me.

I will drink coffee any way it is handed to me

Weak, strong, with milk, without milk.

Memory is not my strength

Which is why I make sure your story does not rely on it.
I have an animal problem

If left unsupervised, I would own 42 dogs,
7 cats and a cow.
Random skill set
I have an oddly wide range of skills that do not logically belong together.

I love Love Island.
But I never watch a full episode because I have already read the highlights.

South African at Heart
My extended family is in South Africa and I miss them daily. Time zones are deeply inconvenient.
I do not gentle parent.

I love my kids fiercely.
I am just not particularly quiet about it.
